The Cupboard has been a downtown institution in Fort Collins since 1972, with many loyal customers. Visitors to Fort Collins often make The Cupboard one of their stops in town, and many of them tell us they wish they had a kitchenware store as good as ours in their city.
We carry a very wide range of items for food preparation and presentation, as well as international food products, candy, coffee and tea. We have over 2000 different cookbooks—more than even Barnes and Noble. The Cupboard is known for the personal service we provide. Our staff is highly experienced—most have been with the store for multiple years, some for multiple decades.
The Cupboard is larger than most independent and many national
kitchen/houseware stores, but it's our unique approach to merchandise
buying that gives you a selection that's more varied
than what you'll find anywhere else. A store that's part of a chain
will have its merchandise selected by buyers working at the national
headquarters. At The Cupboard, more than 20 (yes, 20!) of the store employees who
help you with your questions and ring up your purchases also spend
part of their workdays as buyers. Being in contact with Cupboard
customers every day, they know what you like and what you need.
While a chain can only buy merchandise from big suppliers who can supply the volumes that a chain requires, The Cupboard can carry some of those same items, plus merchandise from many smaller companies who have unusual or hand-crafted items. For example, we carry Polish pottery, Japanese pottery by Kotobuki, and an eclectic selection of dinnerware, glassware and linens.
With 20 buyers, merchandise is constantly changing, so there's always something new waiting for you at The Cupboard.
